    Attempt of a COLORBLOCK

  • I have praised the colorblock trend in so many posts lately, yet I have not shown any of these kinds of outfits! I just adore my striped tank top from Zara, which goes extremely amazing with my favourite bangles, at least in my oppinion! As for the bottom, I tought I should dress with something which would look good with the dark blue stripes, so I went for my favourite jeans. Once again, Zara rules my world!
And, although this post is write in a happy note, I can't help my sadness towards what happened with Amy Winehouse. I was a fan, I remember who me and some of my friends were listening non-stop on her songs when she launched "Rehab", and it's too bad she didn't know when or how to stop.

    Jeans: Zara

    Current obsession

  • Wholesale oversized clutch

I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of time studying the products in the online shops. I call it "virtual window shopping" and, although in some situations it might break your heart because you can't afford those Miu Miu wedges or that D&G dress, there are also brands with an acceptable price and good quality.

That's how I came across to Wholesale ! I've seen a lot of discussions on the Lookbook forum and I tought I should check it out. It's a little piece of heaven for my eyes, there are so many items up for sale that you can get lost! I spent at least 30 minutes picking up my favorites because there are just too many amazing things. Not to mention the price, totally affordable!

As I said before, I managed to make my "Wish list" after a brief search and I beleive that it will get bigger and bigger...
Striped bag -Ahhh! Love the brown accents!

Have you found a nice place to shop online? Do you enjoy "virtual window shopping " as much as I do?

Fancy Friday: Here comes the bride!

  • Model Anja Rubik married Sasha Knezevic (also  model) last weekend somewhere on the Spanish island of Majorca!! I love her, and they seem like a very sweet and interesting couple to me.

Now, about the dress: it is a gorgeous custom Emilio Pucci dress designed by her dear friend Peter Dundas. It is short in the front and it comes with an amazing train at the back. I found it simply breathtaking, it's just totally in my style!

PS: Too bad the pictures aren't high quality. I tried to edit this one so it is more clear. The original photo source is Vogue UK.

    Where them SALES at?

    By: Bee On: 5:53 AM

  • I took this photos last week, when I was trying on some clothes bought from sales. One of them is my lovely maxi dress, from Asos. I got it in April I beleive, with an amazing price and mostly because I had a premonition that I was going to wear long skirts and dresses all the summer. I love the color, plus there are a lot of possibilities to match it!

The thing about sales is that you get quite carried away, because everything seems so awesome at a lower price. For example, I told myself that I was only going to  spend a part of my savings this month. It all started with a bunch of nail polishes from Sephora and some flats from Bata. The next thing I knew, I was coming back at Sephora to also get myself an eyeliner, or I was spending entire HOURS in the Zara fitting rooms.

Yet, I consider that this time it wasn't as bad as it used to be, I only bought  what I STRICTLY considerred that I need/deserve and I'm quite happy with the results. Who knows, maybe I'll take some pictures with all my new things! :)

    Monday Muse: Abbey Lee Kershaw

    By: Bee On: 12:11 PM

  • Abbey Lee for Vogue Australia- March 2010
She's an Australian model, with amazing ice blue eyes. She has model friends all over the world , she thinks of her good friend Karl Lagerfeld as an "Einstein of high fashion".

That's right. Today was a big day. I redesigned the whole layout of the blog, made everything clean and bright. After postponing this column for months I finally brought myself to write about one my favourites models and this Monday's Muse , Abbey Lee Kershaw.

"I like my hands. They do most of the talking. "
                                                — Abbey Lee Kershaw

I guess what really surpised me in the first place was the fact that she looked equally extraordinary with blond, red, brown  hair, no matter how long or short. Heavy makeup or natural looks , she is always gorgeous. Professional? Of course! I love every single campaign or catwalk she rules, because she always become the character the designer visualizes.
    Chanel- Cruise 2011
If you just have the patience to go through my archieve, you'll notice at least a phot of Abbey is in my inspiration posts.

As for her personal style, totally UNIQUE and BREATHTAKING! She's into boho chic, flowy materials,  faux fur, statement prints and funny sunglasses! She looks like an urban chic versatile godess and I made a selection of my favourites outfits:
I don't know about you, but I know at least 5 more looks where she is wearing these sunglasses! The coat is just fabulous and SO Abbey!

White Boho Fairy. Yet, she can't quit her statement coat and the gold and catchy heels.
Long dress, as she loves to wear. The coat is just the perfect splash of color and the bag is
    eclectic.

    We're all born superstars!

  • I hope you're all having a great weather , because sunny days are back in my town! Therefore, last week I could finally get out of the closet my new pair of shorts, bought on sale at Marks&Spencer. Beleive me or not, they're also THE ONLY pair I've got in my closet, because in summer, maxi skirts and dresses are mainly my thing.

Also, I'm simply stunned by all the amazing things that happened online , because life hasn't been so easy offline lately, all ending up with a faint and my mom scheduling a lot of doctor appointments, I also got banned from the computer a couple of days etc. Yet, how could I not be happy when I saw last night on Fashion In My Eyes that I got featured at the new column, "Look of The Day", with this particular outfit!

When I applied, I tought it would be really fun, because Nookie picks one look per week, and at the end of the month, there is a voting section and you also get to win a prize, but seriously, seing myself on another blog is just an amazing prize to me! After all, 13th wasn't a bad luck at all!
Also, that's how I've described my outfit in the first place, and I can't write that down again, seriously:

"I am a huge fan of pastel tones, so last summer was definetely perfect, since they were everywhere. But now, colorblocking...Hm, I DO love colorblocking, I adore it , but I don't quite have enough bold clothes. I wanted my look to be "IN" for the season, but also to reflect my personality, so I picked the most amazing and colorful scarf at Zara (yet with a beige clean pattern) and matched it with some lavander tones."

    Top: Zara
    Shorts: Marks&Spencer
    Scarf: Zara
    Flats: Bata
    Headband: Accesorize
    Nail Polish: Sephora/ Crazy Priorities

PS: On top of everything, I 've also received "One lovely blog" award from the lovely bloggers Kayleigh and Alyssa.

  • When I saw on that little Google box yesterday the shocking number 100, it was an amazing surprise! And of course, it gave me confidence at the same time.
I mean, I am sure that my readers who also happen to be blogger have been there, or are excited to get to that point. It may not seem a great achievement from the outside,  but to me is EVERYTHING at the moment. Because I know that at LEAST 100 lovely people passed by, each with a soul and an open mind, and they have read my thoughts or seen my outfits!
    And it is true that...
I can't argue with that. It's just that I understand all of the above as signs. Signs that let me know that you, dear brilliant readers, are somewhere out there, and it just gives me the strenght and the motivation to go on!
    Thank you so much!

Sometimes hitting the bottom can be the best thing!!!

    By: Bee On: 7:33 AM

  • About fashion blogging

Okay, I'm so sorry I haven't posted more, especially after amazing feedback I have received recently , but you can get so easily distracted on summer holiday ! Anyway, this post is something, I mean if you read carefully and understand it, I really hope it does make a point. The idea came to me while I was doing my holiday homework, 100 problems at physics. I know that at the first sight the picture may seem weird and you might be asking yourself right now: "Is this a blog about science?" but this situation really is similar to fashion blogging, so you'd be better prepaired to focus while reading this:

Okay, for the ones who don't know, the energy, according to classical mechanics, is formed by the Kinetic Energy (E k = it has everything to do with the motion) and  the Potential Energy (E p).

Imagine that triangle above as a slope. You get enthusiastic and you're just hitting the road of fashion blogging, you have a lot of potential , but not so much ability of moving things. Most of you , just like me, start writing a lot on a blog post, being aware that the quality of the pictures is not quite good, or you don't have an appropriate decor. You would love to change it, but as you don't have actual many readers at the beggining you just decide to wait and hope that your writing and your point of view is more important than the visual impact.

This, right here is the resemblance between physics and what we are doing. At first, the potential energy is at it's highest, while the kinetic one is at 0. Here comes the magic thing though: the energy converts. It converts from potential to kinetic, and next thing you know is that the speed is at it's highest.

I like to consider the motion, as the speed as you attract more readers. Yet, this is not everything. I have noticed that most of the fashion bloggers emphasize the pictures as their blog is getting more acknowledged, and tend to write less.Of course, there are a bunch of exceptions, Gala Darling is my favorite. Not only she writes A LOT, but her photos are more expressing than ever!

Still, who could blame them after all? You get to see the most amazing brand shoes, the most unique places because they choose to improve their picture quality and wardrobe. I think that this gets you partially in this after all: seing girls who have managed to become trend-setters and who were helped by their readers to have the most breathtaking opportunities. And it does actually make sense because, for me, a picture does worth a thousand words.
I wish I was able to identify the source- found of TUMBLR
I really felt like sharing this perspective with you, my dear readers, because it seemed beyond amazing to be able to proof , with the help of actual theories that Sometimes hitting the bottom can be the best thing!

PS: I need to analyse the ballance between pictures and writing on a fashion blog on a future post.
PPS: Hope you are not having an head ache :)
PPPS: This applies to average fashion blogs only, not street style because of course their only goal is to portray the most amazing looks and all,and that can be done by writing!

Well we got no choice/ All the girls and boys

  • Within the last few days, I felt like it wasn't summer anymore. Ugly weather and a considerable amount of water, I caught a cold, so I pretty much spent my time in shops (Massive SALES everywhere!) or in bed.

One thing that I have learned: rain is good for brainstorming!!! I have a lot of ideas for the blog, the fashion community in general , but it's up to me whether I'll  be able to get things moving or not. One thing for sure, I have to be more hardworking, because I feel that there is plenty to improove around here. Now, about the outfit:

The photos were taken just before I went ouside for a walk with my friends, because I looked in the mirror and I liked the actual result of the styling. I was confident that I would be able to take photos outside, but a heavy rain started, so I had to post these awful pics instead.

Nothing just too special related to this outfit. I wanted to wear my beloved Zara blazer but also keep a little of the colorblocking trend, so I wore my favorite scarf and matching flats. Also, my "awful" grey colored nails(as mom considers) were matched with the most confortable Zara grey blouse. Oh, also note my new owl ring, from C&A!
