When you're in the blues...of blogging

By: Bee On: 1:34 PM
  • Let's Get Social

  • Okay, you're a fashion blogger. You start everything with a load  of enthusiasm, you have bunch of ideas for your posts, inspirational photos, maybe some outfits in mind. This is what makes you a real blogger in fact, this and the ability to interact with people all over the blogosphere.

However, I'm sure that we all have THAT  period at some point, when you feel like you just have to come up with something fun, new , interesting to satisfy your readers, and you have absolutely no idea. It is natural, but it is also so frustrating!
I have come up with some simple tips (soo simple that I'm sure even you have thought of it, it's just all gathered in one simple post now) to get your beautiful & inspiring nature back on track! On top of everything, it is ilustrated with moving names of editorials from different magazines (Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W Magazine etc.)

All that glitters is not gold  or

NEVER EVER write low quality posts just because you are in a rush or you have no idea of what you should do next. I would much rather prefer see less posts on a blog, but written with all the heart, than just some inspirational photos threw there and there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE inspirational posts, but you always have to specify what is your target like "I've been obsessed with Miu Miu lately" or "This post is supposed to showcase how much my best friend means to me".

    White noise OR
Even if you have no recent posts lately, that shouldn't make you loose contact with your fellow bloggers! Au contraire, this could be a good thing, you could have time to socialize more and bring new audience to your blog. One of the many valuable that I have learned from the lovely Gala Darling is that "communication is key". You can't wait for positive and honest feedback if you never comment or share your impression towards blogs and other things online.

    Made to measure  or
If you start writing a blog post thinking "Oh, how come I haven't thought of that column on X's blog" or "I'm not as good as..." just STOP IT! Take your time, maybe get away from the computer and always remember that we are all individual and unique, we all have special things to say , in our own way and we shouldn't let resentments or envy control us! In the end it's about QUALITY, not QUANTITY!

    Wanted...HONESTY
It's always a hard thing to be able to make the difference between what should be posted online and what should stay in your circle of friends, because it's your own safety we are talking about. However, don't pretend to be someone else, and write about stuff that you wouldn't have the courage to normally say outloud. If you start everything on the fact that nobody would find out, you are lying yourself and your readers.

    Why don't you...?
Destress a little! Don't forget why you have started blogging in the first place. Take a deep breath and remember the great achievements and the fun you had. Listen to good music, go out & everytime you have an idea, write it down somewhere!

Sending lots of lovely love, Mary M.
